Hello, little ones. You've all wandered far and wide, so why don't you site down for a moment, take a short rest? Here, you can have this mouse, I wasn't going to finish it anyway. Feel free to use my moss bed and drink from my pool of water. Ah, you want to here a story? Do we all? Okay, I will tell you a story, as you requested . . .
When I was younger and full of energy, I, too, loved to explore. One day, I stumbled upon a group of cats, and they told me their story, which I am now repeating to you . . .
~~~
Have you heard of the four main Clans? Thunder, Wind, River, and Shadow? Ah, good, I do not want to take up more of your time explaining them to you. Well, until recently, everything was perfect. A bit too perfect, if you asked me. They should have been more on alert. There was plenty of prey, lots of kits, and no attacks or sicknesses. It was a great Newleaf.
It was the Clans's last Newleaf.
Unexpectedly, a terrible, new sickness took hold of the Clans. Taken by surprise, the medicine cats hurried to find a cure to it. But the mysterious disease killed in a day, a day full of pain. Everyone got it-- kits, apprentices, warriors, even leaders and medicine cats, themselves!
Soon, almost everycat was wiped out by the horrible plague. The poor Clans were no more.
The remaining, healthy cats gathered together on the Gathering island, worried for their sakes. There were only enough cats for a small Clan. The cats included two medicine cats and one leader, Yewstar, the leader having only one life.
All of the sudden, one of their StarClan cats appeared: Iridescentstar, one of the leaders who had died from the sickness. She told the cats that if they stayed there, they would all be forgotten and the Clans would eventually be forgotten. If they wish to survive, and begin a new life, they must leave.
So the cats left, being guided by Yewstar. They called themselves
DawnClan, since dawn is when the sun rises up and begins a new day, and they hoped to make a new beginning.
They searched for exactly one moon until finding the perfect territory. It had a bit all of the Clans together-- a large forest, with pine trees included in it, a bit of a moor at the edge, and a large stream running through. Prey was abundant, and there was even a fantastic place for a camp; a dried-up lake bed. And, the best part, there were no other cats living there.
No cats, at least.
After just settling in, they were hit with a massive attack of badgers, fighting for their territory and lives. The cats were triumphant, but one of the medicine cats was dead, and Yewstar was mouse-lengths from joining StarClan.
With her last remaining breath, Yewstar choked out, "The very first leader of DawnClan will be . . . Originaleyes. In the eyes of StarClan, I now change your name to Generatedbeginning . . ."
Newly named Generatedbeginning was now the leader, but the cats had no connection to StarClan yet, and didn't even know their own territory! What was to become of DawnClan?
~~~
Generatedbeginning started off by picking a deputy and medicine cat apprentice. A good choice, if you ask me. Only one cat volunteered per position, so they were the obvious choice.
That day, Westforest became DawnClan's first deputy, and Commencepaw DawnClan's first medicine cat apprentice.

Soon after appointing Commencepaw as the medicine cat apprentice, Chillingsound, the medicine cat, called him in. It was obvious the old tom was dying, and with his last words, he named Commencepaw Commenceberry.
Commenceberry is now DawnClan's medicine cat.

After finally finding the place where the cats culd contact StarClan, the Moonlit Meadow, Generatedbeginning went there with his medicine cat, Commenceberry.
He received his nine lives from StarClan, and was named Generatedstar.

There you go, little ones. That is their story, so far. On your adventures, if you meet them, tell them Hidden said hello. Yes, tell them . . .
